Yes. We handle proofreading, translation and mentoring entirely digitally – you send us your documents, we deliver the result as a file. Tutoring is also available flexibly online. This means we are there for you regardless of location, whether in Aachen, Cologne or anywhere in Germany.

The asterisk is a fixed part of our name and stands for the close connection between human academic expertise and AI-supported analysis. Our alpha academica AI^* system supports the work – responsibility and control remain throughout with qualified staff.

For us, a standard page comprises 1,500 characters including spaces. This clear reference unit allows fair, transparent billing – with no hidden conversion factors. We determine the exact length of your work before the order begins and give you a binding price.

You send us your text – preferably as a Word file (.docx), since only there is tracked changes with transparent corrections and comments possible. We also accept PDF files; in that case you receive the correction in a suitable format by arrangement. You choose the tier you want (proofreading, copy-editing or expert review). Our alpha academica AI^* system analyses the text, qualified academic staff review and guide the result. You receive your work back with transparent tracked changes and explanatory comments.

Every submission is supported by qualified academic staff – at least at bachelor’s, usually at master’s or doctoral level. For the expert review, we make sure that the person working on it knows the respective field. If that cannot be guaranteed, we do not accept the order.

Yes. A trial correction of up to two pages is available at a fixed price of €9.99; the „copy-editing“ tier applies. This lets you get an impression of how we work in advance.

That depends on the length of your work and the chosen tier. Thanks to AI-supported analysis, we work noticeably faster than traditional editing offices – short turnaround times are often possible, including at weekends. We give you the specific delivery date with the quote.

Yes. Our goal is to sharpen your work linguistically without changing your authorial voice. In the expert review we always give content-related notes as comments – the decision whether to adopt a suggestion always remains with you.

Our focus is academic specialist translation German ↔ English. Further language pairs are available on request – just get in touch. With us, a translation is an independent target text, not a change document; on request we add a subsequent editing pass.

We review your request and select the specialist who best fits your module and exam. So that we can prepare you optimally, we ask you to provide us with as many materials as possible – such as exercise sheets, lecture notes and past papers.

No. We work in as student-friendly a way as possible, with no fixed monthly commitment. For effective exam preparation, however, we recommend regular weekly sessions – ideally you get in touch around three months before the exam, so that together we can set up a reliable plan.

Tutoring is subject-specific – concrete modules such as business mathematics, statistics or advanced mathematics, with a focus on the exam. Mentoring is the holistic support throughout your studies: from orientation and semester planning to writing strategy. The two complement each other but can be booked independently.

You pay conveniently via PayPal or bank transfer. For the correction of academic work, payment is made in advance: after you confirm the quote, you receive the invoice by email.

As a small business, we charge no VAT under § 19 German VAT Act (UStG). Our tutoring is additionally VAT-exempt as an educational service under § 4 No. 21 UStG. The prices stated are therefore final prices.

Absolutely. We treat your documents in strict confidence and do not pass them on to third parties. On request we work entirely anonymously – your name need not appear in any document. The details are governed by our privacy policy.
